The Economic and Social Council is together with the Council of State: the two constitutionally provided Official advisory and consultative bodies to the People's Government. While the State Council is responsible for cermonial functions, reserve powers, national security, judicial policy, home affairs, constitutional affairs of great significance of the governance of the state, and general political directional advise: the Economic and Social Council is responsible for political case advise on different bills, programmes, legislation and laws.
In difference of the Council of State; the Economic and Social Council does have less independent powers of decision than the State Council. However the Economic and Social Council is also the only formal advisory body to the General Assembly: giving the Council a direct measure to the legislative functions.
The Ecosoc, as it's usually is called is working as a consultative assembly, rather than a board or an council (as the State Council). The Ecosoc is composed by 150 members from the whole of society, representing different professions, branches, companies and associations working with social, labor and economic issues. The daily work is performed in different delegations, commissions, committees and sections. The Ecosoc however sits in plenary sessions at least three (3) times á month, where the votes is performed.
The Economic and Social Council is led by a President who's the chief executive and presiding officer of the plenary. The President presides over- and schedules debate, appoints members to the devolved committees and delegations of the Council, chairs the official policy negotiations of the Groups in the Economic and Social Council, represents the Council in intergovernmental affairs and is the spokesperson of the Council as a whole.
The President does also chairs the Bureau (the board of the Ecosoc) and heads the Secretariat; appointing it's Chief Executive, Auditors and other high officials. The President overseas the operations of the Secretariat, ensuring a smooth and effective work in orders with the direction of the Councils willing. The President is assisted by four (4) Vice Presidents-

BODIES OF THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL:
BUREAU OF THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL:
The Bureau is the administrative, financial and organizational board of the Council., responsible for the administrative duties of the Council and the day-to-day work as well as management. The Bureau is composed by the President (1), six Deputy Presidents (6), the Council Majority Leader (1), the Leaders of the each respective Memberships Sections, the Chief Executive of the Secretariat and the General Counsel. The Bureau is meeting in the beginning of every week and does also manages issues and affairs relating to the procedure, votings and sessions of the Council.
For the Membership section representing the General Assembly: separate party leaders is elected within the different groups. Usually; the leader of the party who holds the Leadership of the Official Opposition gets the seat at the Bureau.
WORKING PANELS:
The Working Panels performs the daily work of the Council and is the standard, political working groups and committees consisting of between 25 and 30 members each. The Working Panels shadows the policies, proposals and bills by General Assembly and the People's Government. The Working Panels is then tasked with preparing studies, draft opinions, reports and bills before the vote comes to the Plenary Sessions. The Working Panels meets every week. The Panels is led by a Presidium consisting of a Chairman, a 1st Deputy Chairman and a 2nd Deputy Chairman to every Working Panel.

DELEGATIONS:
The Delegations is another form av body of the Council. In difference of the Working Panels however, the Delegations has received an delegation in decision/representation in political and administrative affairs. The Delegations could be tasked with different functions; for example auditing, befits or negotiations. The Delegations is thereby an important part of the Council responsible for key functions of the legislative, administrative and advising business as well as the daily operations and functioning.

COMMISSIONS:
The Commissions is interim bodies of the Council: established with a limited budget and time of working. The responsibilities could be everything from policy, investigation to administrative duties. Two of the Commissions is standing Commissions which period of session by order is renewed every new session of the Council. The Cantonal and Local Affairs Commission as well as the Investigation of the Executive Commission is a vital part of the Councils operation and therefor standing Commissions.
